Isolated Converters
Isolated DC–DC converters transfer power through a high-frequency transformer, providing galvanic isolation and a large voltage step in a compact stage. Professional work in this area covered the design and simulation of isolated converters for data-centre power applications, using LLC resonant and dual-active-bridge topologies.
LLC Resonant Converter
A 10 kW LLC resonant converter was studied for a 750 V input and 50 V output, from resonant-tank design and parameter sweeps to closed-loop simulation.
Dual Active Bridge (DAB)
A dual active bridge connects two full bridges through a transformer and its series inductance, controlling power flow in either direction through the phase shift between the bridges. The DAB work covered the design of isolated conversion for the same application area.
